Yesterday, I had the opportunity to to visit the Schomburg Center in Harlem to attend the Miss Nigeria USA pageant. Now some of you may say that I was just jealous that Nigeria won the Jollof Festival, but no, I honestly want to see some Nigerian culture. What a venue!. I have lived in Harlem and going to the Schomburg was one of my favorite pastimes. So this was an added treat.
I have to admit this was a great show! Really! A production on par with that of Broadway. The contestants did a wonderful job of not only walking in swimsuit but representing their culture, values, and personal goals. However, in the end, there could only be one. Congratulation to Miss Idara Inokon (Miss Akwa Ibom). Also, to 1st runner up Ayoyemi Ajimatanrareje ( Miss Ondo) and 2nd runner up Susan Adeyeni.
A thanks to the judges of course, Isaac Badu (CEO Badu Global), Millen Magese (Humanitarian and ex beauty queen), Ty Hunter (Celebrity stylist &a Fashion Designer), Wura Kolawole (1st runner up Miss Nigeria USA 2015), Efemena Adabamu (Media Personality &a Style Blogger), and Asumoh Enyiema (Entrepreneur).
The pageant was organized by Joy Fakhoury and Bola Marshall. Please go to Miss Nigeria USA’s website to find out more information.
